Want a fun, easy way to see some of Banff’s best spots in one day?🇨🇦🏞
This itinerary is a great option if you’ve got a car and want a nice mix of classic views, a bit of exploring, good food, and a few laid-back stops around town. It covers some of Banff’s most iconic places without trying to cram in too much.

☕ First up is an optional stop for the early risers.
Grab a coffee and head to the Mount Norquay Lookout if you want to try your luck with a fiery sunrise. Of course, that part is up to nature, so if the weather is not on your side, enjoy a longer sleep instead.

☀ For the rest of you, this is where the real day begins!
Start with the classic Banff Sign and Bow Falls, then head to either the Sulphur Mountain Gondola or Tunnel Mountain for the bigger highlight of your day, depending on whether you’d rather keep things easy or go for more of a physical challenge.
After that, you’ll have time to grab lunch in town and wander Banff Avenue a bit. Personally, Big Bear is my favourite store, though they do stock my hiking guidebooks, so I may be a little biased lol😅
Once you’ve walked off lunch, and maybe picked up a nice gift or two, it’s time to check out Cave & Basin, one of Banff’s most historic spots!

🌄 By then, it’ll likely be getting into the later afternoon.
So, depending on how quickly you’ve been moving, I’ve also added a couple of 'optional extras' for the end of the day, depending on your mood and timing. If you’ve still got plenty of energy, you could even do both:
Cascade of Time Garden (30 mins): A peaceful little garden with mountain views and colourful seasonal flowers, and conveniently on the way to the next optional stop.
Banff Upper Hot Springs (30-60 mins): A relaxing hot spring soak with mountain scenery all around. Best enjoyed later in the day if you want to unwind, though some travellers may prefer to head back and relax at their hotel instead if it already has its own spa or hot pool.

It’s a solid all-round Banff day that gives you a little bit of everything, without feeling too rushed.
