I tried to be spontaneous & found myself squeezing through a rock passage. This is the Chalwell Galleries, a granite outcrop located in Mt Buffalo National Park and accessed by a 1.7km return loop from the Lake Catani Day Visitors Area. Expect to walk up some rocky stairs and pass by many boulders before squeezing down into a tight passage, “the galleries” for some pretty unique views. Learn from me and don’t follow signs wearing a dress and sandals even if the sign says 750 metres and you’re being extremely optimistic.
Please make sure you always do this hike in the one direction as per the signs as if you come from the wrong direction there will be a huge traffic jam in the galleries and it will make it extremely difficult for others to get by.
