The Cheviot Railway Tunnel is a historic gem nestled between Yea and Molesworth on the Great Victorian Rail Trail. Built in 1889 and made rom 675,000 hand made bricks the 201 metres in length and 4.7 metres in tunnel is height is the longest rail trail tunnel in Victoria today.

Getting there:

Only a 10 minute drive from Yea and you’ll find the Cheviot Tunnel located along the Great Victorian Rail Trail and only a short walk from the car park on Cheviot Road (unsealed).

Elise's Tips:
It can get quite dark in the tunnel so it’s worth putting on your phone light if you’re a little worried, but it’s honestly worth walking or riding to the other end and back (don't forget to get lots of photos)!
