Banff's natural caste with an alpine lakeš°š
The Rockbound Lake trail keeps levelling up as you go. You start in the trees, grind up a long steady climb, then you pop into some small meadows with Tower Lake. After that, the trail pushes up through a low cliff and takes you out to a natural bowl shape in the mountain with Rockbound Lake tucked inside it. Itās a long day, but the payoff is definitely earned. If you are to come here, I would strongly suggest the fall season - it is beautifulllll with golden colours everywhere!

Close Camp Recommendation: Johnston Canyon Campground
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this, Castle Mountain Campground has been āclosed until further noticeā. Its best to check the Parks Canada website for updates on itās opening (I will also keep an eye on this and update my campgrounds map pin if and when it reopens).
Until then, the nearest campground is the Johnston Canyon Campground, which is a short 3-4 minute drive southeast. For more details & booking links, check out its pin on my map.
