Waterfowl Lakes - A Rocky Mountain Roadside Gem 🏔💚
Electric turquoise water, massive mountain backdrops. Mount Chephren steals the show for me here. It’s a big, sharp pyramid of a peak with that rugged texture that looks unreal when there’s still snow hanging on up high.
Add in the fact that this area is active for wildlife. I’ve seen a moose here once, and we even had a bear pass by our campsite another time. It’s just one of those stops that always feels like the real deal. I know this is just the roadside photospot viewpoint, but I strongly suggest squeezing in a day for this area, camping, or doing one of the hikes here!
