A riverside stroll, with beautiful mountain backdrops🌉🏔️

The Canmore Engine Bridge (best done through the Bow River Loop trail) is a classic Canmore spot. The bridge is a historic 1891 CPR iron bridge, which looks very old world. From the bridge and the riverside paths, the scenery is beautiful! You get views of the Rundles, Ha Ling, and the Three Sisters. It's also right on the edge of downtown Canmore, so super easy to walk to from any downtown location too.

🏕️ CAMPING OPTIONS

✅ TIPS FROM DEV, LINKS & SAFETY

  • Don't let the downtown proximity fool you. The Bow River is a highly active wildlife corridor. Elk, deer, and coyotes frequently use this area, and bears occasionally wander through as well. Always keep your dog on a leash and give wildlife plenty of space. And bring bear spray to be extra safe.

  • See Alberta Parks for the latest Kananaskis Park trail conditions.
