Two parks - One lakeš©µš
Boundary Lake is a quieter trail, which is quite surprising considering how beautiful and easy it is! I know its in the middle of the icefields, but still! Definitely one of those underrated hikes that feels like you found a secret. Itās a steady but pretty mellow walk through open forest and little meadow sections to a turquoise lake that sits right on the Banff and Jasper park boundary. The fun twist is the trailhead starts on the Jasper side, then about 0.5 km in, you cross back into Banff, which is exactly how 'Boundary' Lake got its name.
On calm days the water goes crystal clear and you can get those clean reflections with peaks and glaciers lined up across the far side. From the shore youāll see Hilda Peak on the left, Mount Athabasca in the middle, and Boundary Peak on the right. If youāre chasing quiet, this is a solid bet, might even get the whole lake to yourself.

š š§ GLACIER VIEW LODGE
Right at the Icefield Discovery Centre is The Glacier View Lodge. Basically the āsleep beside a glacierā option here. Itās definitely on the pricey side, but there arenāt many places to stay up in the icefields, and the location is the whole point I suppose. So if youāre going to splurge for one night, this is a pretty unreal place to do it that's for sure. For more details on the lodge, check out its pin on my map.
