The New Brighton Pier in Christchurch, New Zealand has a cool history with not one, but two piers! The first one was made of wood and opened back in 1894, but sadly got demolished in 1965. Fast forward to 1997, and a new concrete pier popped up in the same spot, stretching out 300 meters into the ocean – making it the longest ocean pier in Australasia. It's like a local icon, attracting tourists and hosting events like skate nights and fireworks shows. Plus, it survived some earthquakes and even got a fancy $8.5 million makeover in 2017.
