Wharariki Beach is an awe-inspiring beach located on the Tasman Sea, west of Cape Farewell and south of the North Island in New Zealand. This north-facing sandy beach can only be accessed with a 21-minute hike from the end of Wharariki Road, which is about 4 kilometres from the nearest village. The beach is flanked by cliffs to either side providing a unique seeing and feeling as winds can travel freely over the flat topography behind it. Wharariki Beach is home to the Archway Islands, which have been featured in many New Zealand landscape calendars giving it immense popularity. This area is bordered by Pūponga Farm Park and features Kahurangi National Park close by as well. With its vast beaches and unique rocky islands, Wharariki Beach is sure to make your New Zealand holiday an unforgettable one!
