Gal Oya Lodge offers a unique stay in Sri Lanka's wilderness, with spacious bungalows and a family villa nestled in 20 acres of private jungle. Each living space is designed to blend seamlessly with nature, featuring king-sized beds, alfresco bathrooms, and private verandas for relaxation.

Normally we don't stay in places like this. But the night we arrived in the Gal Oya Nationalpark, we somehow got late and could not find another place to stay. Since you should never travel in a Sri Lankan National Park in the late afternoon, when it is time for the elephants to start roaming around - we definitley were happy that they had a free room. And boy, what a beautiful experience it was. We felt like staying in the middle of nature, since the lodge is build in a very natural way and for example the pool is surrounded by bamboo and other lush nature. Also the half open sky bathroom ... simply great!

The lodge provides a secluded retreat where guests can unwind and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Gal Oya National Park. We recommend to stay for more than a night, since the staff can take you on very privat elephant spotting tours or introduce you to the local Vedda community - the indigenous people of Sri Lanka.
