This is my favorite place in Iceland. Guess it's easy to understand why. I recommend you do a full day trip. There are numerous tours available (see book button below), each catering to different abilities and interests. If you can’t physically go then you should at least stop by the Hornstrandastofa visitor centre in Ísafjörður and check out the VR experience I made for them. It will save you some money and spare you from seasickness.
