The newly renovated Çarshi Mosque (Basar Mosque) stands on the corner of Agim Ramadani and Ibrahim Lutfiu Streets. It is one of the oldest Islamic places of worship in Kosovo and also the oldest building in the city.
Sultan Bayezid I had it built in 1393 in memory of his father, Sultan Murad I, who died in the Battle of Kosovo Field. The stone sacred building consists of a prayer room with a dome 10 metres in diameter, a gallery and the original minaret.
