The Serbian part of the city continues on a hill to the west above the Ibar. The wooded Borici Park stretches out there. On the way there, you pass an extremely beautiful Serbian Orthodox church, dedicated to St Demetrius of Thessaloniki, the founder of the city.
It was only completed in 2011 and serves the Serbs as a replacement for the Sava Church (09) in the Albanian part of Mitrovica, which had become inaccessible to them. At least the view from here is better than from down on the main boulevard.
