Cockburn Street is a charming and historic street located in Edinburgh's Old Town. It was created back in 1856 as a winding link between the High Street and Waverley Station. Originally named Lord Cockburn Street after a well-known Scottish lawyer, judge, and literary figure, it has since dropped the "Lord" from its name. The street is lined with unique and specialized shops, and its buildings showcase a mix of architectural styles, including the impressive City Chambers. Cockburn Street also holds some medieval remnants, with narrow closes and hidden alleyways that add to its character. It has even made appearances in films like The Avengers Infinity Wars and Fast & Furious 8. Overall, Cockburn Street offers a delightful blend of history, shopping, and cinematic charm.
