Out of all the pristine beaches in Byron Bay, The Pass is one of my favourites and is also one of the most popular. The water clarity is unreal and there is a set of stairs to a lookout on a small island surrounded by tropical water. This lookout is the perfect spot to see the local dolphins, go whale watching, or trying your luck at spotting other marine life. I’ve been lucky a few times and have managed to see small reef sharks and even beautiful eagle rays.

The Pass is also a great place for surfing. You'll often find plenty of surfers here as the waves are long and slow, making it perfect for all levels. This little slice of paradise is often protected by large swell and is a great place to take a dip in the calm shallow waters.
