Hancock Gorge is one of the most fun hikes we have ever done, and it is surprisingly short. The trail is a 1.5km return walk to Kermits Pool and is packed with adventure. You will weave through narrow red gorge walls, wade through water (so be prepared to get wet) and even spider crawl along slippery ledges.
At the end of the trail, you will reach the stunning Kermits Pool, a natural swimming hole carved deep into the gorge. The whole scene feels surreal, especially in the morning when light rays hit the rock walls and bring out all the vibrant reds.
We recommend starting this hike early to avoid the crowds, as the narrow sections can be tricky to navigate when it gets busy. The soft morning light also makes the entire place feel even more magical.
If you are keen to explore more, Handrail Pool in nearby Weano Gorge is another incredible spot worth checking out.
Hancock Gorge is located within Karijini National Park, and a $17 vehicle entry fee applies or you can purchase a WA All Park Pass for $130 which gives you unlimited entry to any WA park for 12 months (purchase online in advance or at the park entrance).
