Charles Knife Canyon is one of the most scenic spots in Exmouth, offering sweeping views over the rugged canyons and dramatic outback landscape. It’s best visited early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the golden light hits the cliffs just right, bringing out the deep reds and earthy tones of the terrain.

The drive up to the main lookout is sealed and suitable for 2WDs, making it easily accessible. Once you reach the top, the road turns to gravel and winds further along the ridgeline. If you’re up for a bit of exploring, keep going and you’ll find a few more secluded pull offs with even better views and barely anyone around.

It’s the perfect place to just sit for a while, soak in the ambience, and watch the colours shift across the canyons.
