Millaa Millaa Falls is one of the most iconic waterfalls in Queensland, known for its perfect curtain of water cascading over a dark rock face into a clear swimming pool below. It’s surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, making it one of the most photographed waterfalls in Australia. It can feel a little touristy as it's so easily accessible. I'd recommend starting at this waterfall nice and early to enjoy the surrounding nature without the crowds.

The falls are one of the first along the Waterfall Circuit and can easily be reached with a short walk from the car park. You'll be able to swim in the cool water which is super refreshing on a hot day. The best time to visit Millaa Millaa Falls is during the wet season (around December to March). This is when the waterfall is at its fullest and the surrounding rainforest comes alive.

If you're hoping to get some shots of your vehicle amongst the waterfall, make sure you arrive early as this spot with the waterfall at the carpark is actually reserved for tour buses, so you won't be able to stop there during the day.
