Torpedo Rocks is a local favourite and a little slice of paradise that’s often away from the crowds. From the Torpedo Rocks car park, there are a few different tracks you can take to explore the coastline. The trail to the right of the carpark leads along the coastal path towards Yallingup Beach, where you’ll come across a stunning viewpoint overlooking the rugged coastline and distant cliffs. Along the way, you’ll even find rocky paths that lead down to the water. On calm days, the small rocky coves here are great for snorkelling and diving, especially if you're chasing abalone.
If you want to discover a hidden gem that's a favourite among the locals, take the trail to the left of the carpark. After a short 30 metres, take the dirt path to the right. This will take you down to the beach just below, which is actually the far end of Smiths Beach. To the right of the beach there are also rock pools and a hidden cliff jump. It’s a quiet, lesser known stretch that became our go to summer spot to escape the crowds when Yallingup Beach got too busy. You’ll still be treated to those insanely blue waters and plenty of beach space to explore.
