Hamersley Gorge is home to the Instagram famous Spa Pool. Getting there involves a long and bumpy dirt road, but the journey is well worth it.
The gorge is more open and spacious than others in the park, with plenty of spots to swim, but the most popular swimming hole is the natural spa. To find it, keep to the right and continue heading upstream. You’ll need to do some rock scrambling, but after 20 to 30 minutes you’ll reach this unique swimming hole. The pool is carved between the rocks with a small waterfall gently flowing into a tranquil pool, perfect for cooling off.
Because this spot is so popular, it’s best to visit early in the morning if you want to have it all to yourself.
Hamersley Gorge is within Karijini National Park, so the standard park entry fee of $17 per vehicle applies, or you can purchase a WA All Park Pass for $130 which gives you unlimited entry to any WA park for 12 months (purchase online in advance or at the park entrance).
