Knox Gorge is one of the most beautiful and underrated hikes in Karijini National Park. The trail leads you deep into the gorge along a stream, ending at a peaceful waterhole where you can cool off with a refreshing dip. This place honestly blew us away. Standing at the bottom of the chasm, surrounded by towering red walls, felt like something straight out of a movie.
The start of the Knox Gorge trail can be a bit of a challenge. It's steep and rocky on the descent, so take your time and wear sturdy shoes. Once you reach the bottom, the rest of the walk is mostly flat and much easier. The trail begins at the lookout and is a two kilometre return walk, taking around two hours to complete.
Knox Gorge is located within Karijini National Park, so park entry fees apply. It’s $17 per vehicle for a day pass or you can purchase a WA All Park Pass for $130 which gives you unlimited entry to any WA park for 12 months.
