This spot is the perfect way to start your morning, with a breathtaking sunrise view over Uluru. The viewing platform offers a great vantage point for photos, and you can also spot Kata Tjuta in the distance. Watching the sun rise over Uluru is such a magical experience as the red outback glows and slowly comes to life.
One of the reasons I love this spot so much is that there are plenty of unique angles and walking paths to explore for cool photos. Most people stick to the viewing deck, so be sure to wander along the other tracks for equally stunning views. If you want to avoid the crowds altogether, come during the day or at sunset when most people head to the main sunset viewing area.
Aim to arrive about 20 to 30 minutes before sunrise so you have time to walk from the carpark and secure your spot. It can be very cold in the mornings, so bring warm clothes.
Your NT Parks Pass does not cover Uluru, so you will need to purchase a separate pass. You can buy it online before you go or at the entrance gate. It costs $38 per person for a three-day pass.
