Turquoise Bay is easily one of the most famous beaches in Exmouth. Just like the name suggests, the water here is an unreal shade of blue and the white sandy shores are absolutely pristine. It’s located within Cape Range National Park, so a $17 vehicle entry fee applies or you can purchase a WA All Park Pass for $130 which gives you unlimited entry to any WA park for 12 months.
Snorkelling at Turquoise Bay is a must. Grab your gear and swim straight from the shore to explore the Ningaloo Reef, where you’ll find an incredible variety of coral and marine life. There are also two natural snorkelling loops you can try, which are created by gentle currents that carry you along the reef.
The Bay Loop is at the northern end and is ideal if you're not a strong swimmer, as the current is generally weaker. The Drift Loop at the southern end is the more popular spot. Start by walking down the beach to the far end, then let the current carry you back. We found this loop to be the most beautiful, with more vibrant coral, colourful fish and a few turtles swimming past.
Before heading out, always check the strength of the current and make sure you're confident with the conditions. On a calm day, this is such a magical snorkelling spot and an unforgettable experience.
