East Bay campground is about 45 minutes from Albany, and it’s absolutely worth the drive. One of the main reasons we love this spot is because you can camp right by the beach for free. East Bay Campground is a rare gem, as free beach camps are hard to come by these days. You’ll have squeaky white sand and the clearest turquoise water just steps from your tent or van. Nothing beats waking up to the sound of the ocean and starting your day with a refreshing morning swim.

There are very limited camping spots, and it fills up quickly. Be sure to arrive early, ideally before 4pm, to secure a place.
