Nestled between Lucky Bay and Hellfire Bay, Thistle Cove is usually a lot quieter but just as beautiful, with the same powdery white sand and crystal clear turquoise water. The towering mountains in the distance create the perfect backdrop to this peaceful slice of paradise.
It’s just a short walk from the carpark, where you’ll also find Whistling Rock. It’s a unique natural rock formation that amplifies the sound of the ocean below to create a constant whistling sound.
If you’re staying at the Lucky Bay campground, there’s a scenic walking trail that connects to Thistle Cove. It takes about two hours return and winds along the coastline and over huge granite boulders, offering amazing views over the ocean. If you have the time, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
Thistle Cove is located within Cape Le Grand National Park, so you’ll need to purchase a park pass for $17 per vehicle or you can purchase a WA All Park Pass for $130 which gives you unlimited entry to any WA park for 12 months. You can purchase the pass online in advance or at the park entrance.
