Just off the main highway from Cairns to Port Douglas, you'll drive along Ellis Beach, which is a great opportunity to stop and soak up the scenic tropical views. This laid back stretch of coastline is just north of the popular Palm Cove and has plenty of palm trees and epic coastal views. It's much quieter than the nearby beaches to the south, making it perfect if you're looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a more secluded beach.

There's also beachfront campground that has some incredible views if you can't get enough and decide to stay or you can continue along Captain Cook Highway for a scenic drive with ocean views.
