Thornton Beach is a beautiful spot to stop and stretch your feet on your way up to Cape Tribulation. It's roughly the mid-point between the Daintree Ferry and Cape Tribulation. The beach is surrounded by lush rainforest and you'll be able to spot the winding river mouth as it meets the ocean. Swimming here is not recommended due to the large presence of crocodiles and marine stingers, so it's best just to soak up the raw unspoiled views.

Getting here involves a scenic drive north after you've crossed the Daintree River on the Ferry. The ferry connects the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation with the rest of Far North Queensland so you'll need to cross it to access many of the things to do. One way tickets cost $29 and return tickets cost $49.
