Emerald Beach is located in the Coffs Coast region and is a great stop to see the resident kangaroos that often like to hang out on the headland. Theres a few spots the kangaroos like to hang out, so here’s the best places to find them:
Emerald beach headland: follow the coastal track to the right of the beach which will take you onto the headland which overlooks Emerald beach. Here you’ll sometimes find a few kangaroos relaxing at sunrise or sunset.
Look at me now headland: if you didn’t spot any at the fist headland, continue along the path which will lead you to the Look At Me Now Headland. This is where the majority of kangaroos hang out. Alternatively you can park at the Look At Me Now Headland carpark. Both walk options take roughly 15 minutes.
The views at sunset and sunrise are magical, especially when you get to watch the kangaroos during golden hour.
Emerald beach is also a great place for surfing and swimming. This beach offers a quieter vibe compared to other spots along the coast.
