The Shark Sanctuary in Coral Bay is such a unique spot to witness reef sharks up close in their natural habitat. It’s about a 15-minute walk north along the main beach, Bill’s Bay, which is known for its calm, shallow waters and makes for a beautiful swim before or after your visit.

To find the sanctuary, just park at the main Coral Bay beach carpark and follow the shoreline north. As you approach the area, you’ll start to spot reef sharks cruising through the shallows, often in large numbers. It’s such an incredible sight to see so many of them gathering so close to the shore.

You’re not allowed to swim in the sanctuary itself, but it’s still well worth the visit. The crystal-clear water makes it easy to spot not only the sharks, but also other marine life in the area.
