While visiting Agnes Water, drive just a little further north and check out the dreamy little coastal town Seventeen Seventy (1770). This town is full of charm, calm beaches, and rich history. It feels like a very sleepy town where you can slow down, relax, and take it all in.

It's the most northern town in Queensland where you'll be able to surf, so be sure to get in as much beach time and surf as you can before heading further north into crocodile territory.

At the very end of the 1770 headland, you’ll find a carpark with two incredible lookouts. One overlooks a cove with distant views of the beach and the other with views across the river mouth and distant mountains. It’s the perfect spot to catch golden hour or just take in the peaceful beauty of the coastline.
