There's no spot in NSW quite like Stockton Sand dunes! The dunes are HUGE, Spanning 32km along the coastline. They're actually the largest moving sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere. The dunes offer a surreal desert landscape with views of the ocean, perfect for adventure seekers.

You can explore the dunes by 4WD, go sand boarding, or even take a camel ride for a unique experience. If you don't have a 4WD, don't worry because you can still access the dunes on foot. Just park at Crest Birubi Beach and from there it'll be a 10 minute walk. It’s an amazing spot to watch the sunset, with the golden light and the camels walking along the beach. It’s seriously amazing!

There are a few different access points to Stockton Sand Dunes. The 4WD entrance at Anna Bay is just beach access, so if you want to drive on the dunes you'll have to enter at Fern Bay or Lavis Lane. You'll also need a permit to drive your car on the beach or the dunes. Permits can only be purchased in person at the BP Service Stations in Anna Bay and Salt Ash, or at the Port Stephens visitor centre in Nelson Bay.
