Right across from the caravan park is a short boardwalk over the red sand that takes you to a beautiful viewing platform and sunset bar. There is usually live music and a bar where you can purchase drinks, but only if you’re a guest staying at Discovery Resorts.

Outback sunsets are some of my favourites, and the one we had here did not disappoint. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky lit up in fiery pinks and oranges that totally shifted the colours of the landscape and complemented the natural reds of the outback so beautifully. There are a few seats and tables on the deck where you can relax and watch the sunset over the canyon in the distance. The panoramic view of the outback landscape is stunning, and paired with the live music and drinks, it makes for a really great atmosphere.

Right in front of the platform, you’ll see the Light Towers installation by Bruce Munro, which lights up at night in a stunning array of colours. If you’re interested in checking it out closer, you can book a walk around the installation.
