A visit to Port Willunga Beach isn’t complete without exploring its famous caves. It's also one of my favourite places to catch a sunrise or sunset, with the caves and jetty remains creating an epic backdrop for photos. The caves were once used by fishermen to store their boats but most people use them now as the ideal place to seek shade on a hot summer day. Sadly there can be a bit of rubbish in them from people not cleaning up after themselves, although that's usually towards the back of the cave.
From the top carpark, head to the left of the restaurant and you’ll spot a path that leads you straight down to the beach. Follow it and you’ll end up right by the caves and the jetty pylons.
