Lake Magic Swimming Pond was a surprising and unique find that completely caught us off guard. If you’re travelling to Esperance via the inland route, you’ll pass right by this spot.

Swimming here feels a bit like floating in the Dead Sea. The high salt concentration in this man-made swimming hole means you can't sink, which is such a strange and unforgettable feeling, especially in the middle of the outback. It’s definitely not a place to go out of your way for, but if you’re visiting Wave Rock nearby, it could be worth popping over for a quick experience.

There is now a $10 entry fee per person, but if you’re staying at Wave Rock Caravan Park, access to the pond is included in your site fee. You can pay at Wave Rock Kiosk, next to Wave Rock Caravan Park.
