In my opinion, Kokomo Cruises is one of the best operators in the Gold Coast for whale watching. The boat is modern and they only take small group sizes, making the tour feel a lot more special and immersive. I was lucky enough to experience a pod of whales breaching just metres from the boat. You'll be able to see whales playing, splashing their massive tales on the surface and getting up close to the boat. It really is a magical experience and one that I definitely recommend doing if you get the chance.

Tickets cost $88 for adults and the tour takes 2.5 hours. The whale watching tour leaves from Marina Mirage and operates daily during whale migration season (June - late October).
