If there’s one thing you shouldn’t miss when visiting Uluru, it’s watching every sunset and sunrise you can. Trust me when I say you won’t regret it. This is one of the most popular spots to watch the sunset over Uluru, and for good reason. Seeing Uluru shift through different colours and hues during sunset is truly magical. I recommend staying until the very end, after the sun has dipped below the horizon. That is when the colours really come alive. You will see the rock face transform from a glowing red to a soft, faded pink, with the added ambience of the surrounding red outback landscape making it an unforgettable experience.

As this is one of the most popular spots in the park for sunset, aim to get there early to secure a parking space with a good view. There is plenty of parking available, but the spots along the fence line are the best if you have a campervan. It is perfect for vanlife as you can enjoy the view right from your home on wheels. Bring some snacks and a drink, and settle in for one of the most magical evening views.

Your NT Parks Pass does not cover Uluru, so you will need to purchase a separate pass. You can buy it online before you go or at the entrance gate. It is $38 per person for a three-day pass.
