The beach that stretches to the right of the Yallingup lagoon is locally known as Rabbits Beach, and there are a few different access points to reach it. Our favourite is at the far northern end, well away from the crowds. Here, you’ll also find two smaller lagoons similar to the main one. The outer reefs create protected pockets of sand where you can enjoy a calm swim, sheltered from the waves.
If you walk all the way to the northern end and continue around the rocks, you’ll stumble upon an ultimate slice of heaven that you’ll likely have all to yourself. It's only accessible at low tide so you can walk across the reef, but just around the corner is a stunning hidden cove with some of the best snorkelling off the reef and a small beach tucked away between the cliffs.
Rabbits Beach was always our go-to sunset spot, and we’ve witnessed some of the most magical colours from here. This stretch of beach is also dog friendly, making it one of the best places to enjoy with your pup.
There’s a small car park just off Dawson Drive with direct beach access, though it fills up quickly. If you continue to the end of Dawson Drive, you’ll find a larger car park perched on top of the hill, offering breathtaking views over the beach. Strangely this carpark on top of the hill says no dogs, but the beach itself is definitely dog friendly. From here, it’s a 5–10 minute walk down, but the path is incredibly scenic. The lookout at the top is also an epic spot to watch the sun set over the ocean.
