Dunadd is a compact early medieval royal site perched on a rocky outcrop, so you can see the carved footprint and stone basin and soak up the atmosphere in 20 to 40 minutes. Wear sturdy shoes and waterproofs because the route and rock surfaces are uneven and can be slippery, and the site is exposed to wind and rain. There are minimal facilities on the hill, so plan to use toilets and cafes in the nearby village or at Kilmartin Museum before you come, and expect only basic interpretation panels on site. It is not wheelchair friendly and the climb involves steps and rough rock, but the short walk and views make it an easy add-on if you are touring Kilmartin Glen and the surrounding ancient monuments.
