Welcome to Artà, a truly authentic corner of Mallorca tucked away in a valley in the island's northeast. You'll feel the town's deep history as you wander its quiet, narrow streets, but the real highlight is the walk up to the Santuari de Sant Salvador. It's a lovely, tree-lined climb of about 180 steps, and from the top, the panoramic views over the terracotta rooftops and surrounding countryside are absolutely worth it. It’s a place to slow down, soak in the traditional atmosphere, and experience a side of the island that remains beautifully untouched by mass tourism.

Every Tuesday morning, the streets and squares of Artà in northeast Mallorca come alive with one of the island’s most atmospheric weekly markets.

Market day & hours: Every Tuesday 08:00–13:30 (peak activity 09:00–13:00).
Location: Town Centre (Plaça del Conqueridor, Carrer Ciutat, and adjacent streets), Artà, Mallorca.
