Just a stone's throw from the Acropolis entrance, you'll find Areopagus Hill, a spot locals love for its incredible panoramic views of Athens, especially at sunset. It’s a short, rewarding climb to the top where you can see the Ancient Agora spread out below and the city stretching to the sea. Be sure to wear good shoes, as the ancient marble rock has been worn smooth and can be quite slippery. There's a modern metal staircase to help you get up part of the way, but the final ascent is over the rock itself.
