Bar Ballena is a beach bar in Los Cóbanos that feels simple, relaxed, and genuinely local.

We stopped here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised 😍. The setting is very laid-back, with that classic Salvadoran beach bar atmosphere, where you can sit down and enjoy a quiet meal by the coast. Even though the place feels very casual, the food was actually surprisingly delicious 😋

What we liked most about Bar Ballena is the atmosphere. It feels very local and unpretentious, and you won’t see many tourists here. Instead, you get that authentic coastal vibe where locals come to eat, chat, and enjoy the ocean breeze.
