Welcome to Ramla Bay, or as the locals call it, Ramla il-Ħamra, named for its unique, fiery-red sand. Tucked away on Gozo, this is arguably the best beach on the islands, a wide, unspoiled stretch perfect for a relaxing day. The water is clear and shallow, making it ideal for a swim or snorkel, and the whole bay is watched over by the famous Tal-Mixta Cave high up on the cliffs. You'll find a couple of small cafés set back from the sand for refreshments, keeping the beach itself wonderfully natural.

Parking is available in a public lot above the beach, usually free of charge, but it can fill up quickly in summer, so arrive early.
