Come up to Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve, for a view you won't forget. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the coast and Cape St. Vincent. You can drive right up to the top, so it's easy to access the breathtaking panoramic views. If you're feeling more adventurous, there are some lovely hiking trails that wind through the mountainside, like the popular 6.8km circular route. It's the perfect escape from the coastal heat, but be sure to bring a jacket as it can get breezy.
