What to order:

Order the bún dọc mùng. It’s a pork noodle soup with a light but deeply savoury broth, tender slices of pork, pork meatballs, and dọc mùng (elephant ear stem) which adds a surprisingly fresh crunch. Add a squeeze of lime and a little chilli if you like some heat.

Why it’s here:

This is one of those very local Hanoi spots you’d probably walk straight past if you didn’t know what you were looking for. The soup is simple but incredibly comforting, and sitting on the low stools with locals makes it feel like a proper slice of everyday Hanoi food culture.

Tip:

Dọc mùng is what makes this dish different. It’s mild, slightly crunchy, and soaks up the broth beautifully. Seating is basic and it gets busy, so come with a flexible mindset and don’t overthink it. This is a great stop for a quick, affordable, and very local meal.
