This place caught our attention while planning trips around eastern El Salvador. Even though we haven’t personally stayed here yet, it’s the kind of destination we would choose if we wanted to fully immerse ourselves in nature and see wild life in El Salvador🐊

This marina lodges are surrounded by plantations, forest, and waterways, that sits on the edge of one of the most biodiverse coastal ecosystems in the country. The property blends comfortably into its natural surroundings, offering unique treehouse-style lodges and jungle villas that feel more like a nature retreat than a traditional hotel.

What makes Puerto Barillas especially interesting is, that it is located within Bahía de Jiquilisco, a vast estuary known for its mangrove forests, birdlife, and marine wildlife. From here, visitors can explore the canals by kayak or boat, visit a spider monkey sanctuary or explore cacao plantations.
