Galle Dutch Fort was initially built by the Portuguese in 1588 and later fortified by the Dutch in the 17th century. This historical monument has withstood the test of time and even survived the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004. With its unique blend of European architecture and South Asian traditions, the fort is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Today, its stone walls surround vibrant alleyways where you can wander and get lost in the artistic shops and trendy cafes.
