Welcome to Ytri Tunga, one of the most reliable spots on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to see seals in their natural habitat. Unlike many of Iceland's famous black sand beaches, you'll find beautiful golden sands here, creating a stunning contrast with the wild coastal scenery. It's just a short, easy walk of about 5-10 minutes from the car park down to the shore where you can often find seals basking on the rocks, especially during the summer at low tide. Just remember to keep a respectful distance to not disturb these wonderful creatures.
