Bere Point is a regional park on Malcolm Island (Sointula) featuring a wonderful vehicle-accessible waterfront campground and coastal hiking trail.

The easy but often muddy Bere Point Trail, also known as the Beautiful Bay Trail, travels through old growth forest and offers several ocean viewpoint areas looking out over an orca rubbing beach.

Northern Resident orca whales like to rub their bodies against smooth pebbles for exfoliation. We didn't see any while hiking this trail but imagine being that lucky!
