Just one of the collection of geological oddities on the 100km long unpaved Alice Lake Loop Tour, North Vancouver Island.

The Eternal Fountain is a waterfall that flows into a cave, or as it is technically known, a swallet (an opening that allows a stream to disappear underground!)

A short 300m loop trail leads from the parking area to the Eternal Fountain viewpoint - definitely more of a quick walk than a hike! There are some stairs.

Please drive carefully and be prepared to give way to industrial traffic while driving the Alice Lake Loop. I'd also recommend bring a good spare tire (and know how to replace it!)
