Harderbahn Funicular (Interlaken → Harder Kulm)
From the center of Interlaken, the Harderbahn funicular takes you up to the amazing viewpoint Harder Kulm in just 10 minutes. Known as the “Top of Interlaken”, it’s one of the easiest mountain viewpoints to reach in the Jungfrau region—and the ride itself is part of the fun.
The ride: A steep climb through the forest, with windows framing the turquoise lakes and snowcapped peaks as you go higher. Kids usually love watching the counter-car pass halfway.
At the top (Harder Kulm, 1,322 m): A short walk brings you to a dramatic glass sky platform jutting out over the valley. From here, you see both Lake Thun and Lake Brienz with the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks in the distance. There’s also a playground and a mountaintop restaurant with a big terrace.
